Ruben Dario Museum
Description
Created on the initiative of Doctor Edgardo Buitrago and inaugurated in February 1964 in the manor house of the Darío family, in the place previously known as "Las Cuatro Esquinas". Darío lived in this house from the age of 40 until he was 14 years old.
Room 1: bedroom, recreates period furniture. The bed in which Rubén Darío agonized and died remains. Room 2: Gathering room, tries to maintain the original style and is located in the corner of the house. Room 3: Archives section, exhibits the Principe editions of Rubén Darío's books, document, originals and photocopies of manuscripts. The diplomatic suit with its gloves, hat, sword and a silk scarf worn by Rubén in Madrid in 1908 when he was Ambassador of Nicaragua in Spain. Room 4: Library composed of more than 2,500 volumes with the Works of Rubén, Nicaraguan and Latin American writers.
